NASW-NM works closely with the Social Work Summit (a forum of NM social work leaders and organizations) in setting its annual legislative agenda.

Issues for consideration for the 2009 New Mexico Legislature include health care reform, repeal of the death penalty, and loan forgiveness. The NASW-NM board will meet in December 2008 to finalize legislative issues.
